History of the Fighting Camels
One of the most notable achievements of the Campbell Fighting Camels is their success in football. The team has won multiple conference championships and has produced several NFL players, including former quarterback Brian Hudson. In addition to football, the university's basketball team has had its fair share of success, making it to the NCAA Division II tournament in 1992. The Fighting Camels have also succeeded in baseball, with their first appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2014. The team has produced several MLB players, including current pitcher Ryan Thompson. With such a strong history of success in multiple sports, it is no surprise that the Campbell Fighting Camels have a dedicated and passionate fan base.
In recent years, the Campbell Fighting Camels have continued to make strides in their athletic programs, with the addition of new sports such as lacrosse and women's golf. The university has also invested in state-of-the-art facilities, including the 3,000-seat Barker-Lane Stadium for football and the 3,100-seat John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center for basketball.
